Drooping Mistletoe - Amyema pendulum
Help save these precious places
Now is the time to act
The government is hell-bent on bulldozing this act of vandalism through.
We need to raise awareness of the impacts of this proposal. There are many ways you can participate.
We will let you know as events are planned and further information is gathered.
Tell us your ideas. If you have information that you think will help then send it to us.
Write to the politicians
Please also contact your local state government member, local council representative and Federal Minister Garrett to voice your opposition.

Help with this website
We are looking for photographs that document the flora, fauna, and places that will be impacted by the bypass.
Relevant video and audio recordings will be helpful too.
If you have technical information, such as species lists and environmental reports, then that would be much appreciated.
And if you are really keen, then you can help write content for this site. We intend to eventually include descriptions of every vegetation community and bush remnant in the area, including explanations of the impacts of the freeway on each. If you have the expertise, then you might like to help write these.
Also, in future we plan to enable you to comment directly in a comment section on each page, so it will be possible for you to join up and start contributing directly.

Lots of other tasks
There are plenty of tasks that we need help with. Things like photocopying the backlog of newspaper articles, help with preparing educational materials, assistance at stalls etc.

Join the Friends of the Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve
The Friends of the Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve work to preserve, protect, and promote the conservation of plants and animals in the Reserve.
The Friends conduct regular working bees every third Sunday at 10:00 am. They meet at the Excelsior Drive entrance to the Reserve. Opportunities for the participation of school, service club, community group and corporate volunteers to contribute to the management of the Pines are available by arrangement.
The group has also facilitated educational opportunities for local schools; conducted guided walks and moonlight rambles, have undertaken survey work and advocated tirelessly for this priceless land.
We welcome you at any of our activities. For more information or to involve your school or community group, please call:
